FootParty ("we", "us", "our") operates the web application at footscape.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the Service. By using FootParty you agree to the practices described below.

Information you provide: When you create or join a watch party, we collect the nickname you enter. We do not require an email address, phone number, password or any other personal account information.

Automatically collected data: We store a session identifier in your browser's local storage so you can rejoin your party if you close the tab. This identifier is not linked to your real identity and is deleted when you leave a party or the room ends.

Match data: We fetch publicly available football match information from third-party sports APIs to display scores and fixtures. We do not store this data long-term.

Chat messages: Messages sent in the room chat are stored temporarily in server memory (Redis) for up to 24 hours and are automatically deleted. We do not archive or back up chat messages.

We use the information solely to operate the Service:
— Display your chosen nickname to other party members
— Maintain your session so you can navigate within a room
— Deliver real-time match events, quiz questions, bingo cards and chat messages
— Show today's football fixtures on the landing page

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, marketing or any purpose beyond providing the Service.

We do not sell, rent or share your information with any third party. Your nickname and chat messages are visible only to other members of the same watch party room. Once the room ends, all associated data is permanently deleted from our database.

FootParty does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies or any third-party cookie-based services. We use browser local storage exclusively to persist your session within a single room. You can clear this at any time via your browser settings or by clicking "Leave Party".

Room data (players, predictions, bingo cards, quiz answers) is deleted immediately when the host ends the room.

Chat messages expire automatically after 24 hours.

Session data in your browser is cleared when you leave a party or when the room is ended by the host.

We do not maintain any long-term user profiles or historical records.

All connections to FootParty are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Real-time communications use secure WebSocket connections. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the data we process, though no system is completely immune to risk.

FootParty is a general-audience service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Since we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, most data-subject rights are satisfied by design. You can delete your session data at any time by leaving the party. If you have questions about data we may hold, contact us at the address below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
